Hiking Legend of the Lady in white

Oberhaslach

Circuit to discover the ruins of the castles and the legend of the White Lady who haunts the Hohenstein. On the way, there are also Gallo-Roman remains.

Starting from the Hostellerie Saint-Florent, take Rue des Ecoles, followed by Rue Schotten. At the intersection, turn left onto Rue du Ringelstein, then follow the trail to the right of the house at No. 19 until you reach the forest path at the top of the trail (yellow cross). Turn left to join a section of the Sculpture Trail and head toward Hohenstein Castle. <br /> To see the castle: take the trail to the left after the “Existe-t-il” sculpture. Go to the lookout point, then retrace your steps back to the forest road; turn left for a few meters, then turn right.<br /> Follow the path, and when you reach a sharp left turn, head up the trail. Continue on toward the ruins of the two Ringelsberg castles (blue ring): the Grand and the Petit. At the summit of the Grand Ringelsberg lie the ruins of Ringelstein. There are numerous stone remains and low walls in varying states of preservation, as well as Gallo-Roman ruins. When you reach the intersection with a forest road, head almost straight ahead to the Kasperlehep pond, then turn left and follow the Luttenbach River (yellow triangle) back down toward the village through the Hasel Valley. When you reach the D218 road, turn right for a few meters, then turn left to rejoin the GR53 (red rectangle). Pass behind the Luttenbach campground and continue straight ahead until you reach the first houses in Oberhaslach. At the end of Rue de la Forêt, turn left (yellow signpost). At the end of Rue Klintz, take Rue du Nideck to the right to return to your starting point.

A tour of the castle ruins and the legend of the White Lady, who is said to haunt Hohenstein. Along the route, there are also Gallo-Roman ruins.
