Niederbronn les Bains
The small thermal town of Niederbronn-les-Bains was most of the time spare from the fighting of the Second World War. But towards the end of the war gunshots burst there. The "exhumation" service of the Volksbund started to move the remains to Niederbronn in 1961. In 1966 the cemetery was completed.
In may 2009, the Albert Schweitzer centre has unveil the permanent exhibition"War destinies". It present 12 selected particular destinies among the 15,809 victims.
