Maison Léon BAUR EARL Jean-Louis BAUR

Eguisheim

The LEON BAUR estate was founded in 1738. Its wine growing family tradition has been transmitted from father to son for 9 generations and it is now run by the Jean-Louis Baur family.

From April to October, cellar visits and guided wine tasting every Wednesday and Friday at 4pm. Free.

The 10 hectares-wine-growing estate  in Eguisheim includes 2 hectares « exception soil » called Grands Crus. Eichberg: « the oaks hill » makes its Riesling and Tokay Pinot Gris taste rich, fruity and mineral. Pfersigberg: «  the peach hill » gives the Gewurztraminers their aromatic elegance and generosity. And 0.40 hectares in the very famous Kaefferkopf Grand Cru in Ammerschwihr: its rare Gewurztraminer tastes spicy, powerfull and harmonious.
