The prehistoric trail Charles Matthis

Niederbronn les Bains

Charles Matthis is at the origin of a good amount of archaeological discoveries, in particular prehistoric but also Roman and medieval, in Niederbronn-les-Bains but also in our area. On this path which commemorates its remarkable investment, discover the famous stones with cups and other enclosures which awoke formerly all its curiosity. A few meters near the castle of Wasenbourg, do not fail to admire the reconstitution of a Roman temple called Wachtfelsen, dedicated to Mercury.
This one hour walking is practised in complement of the circuit towards the Wasenbourg castle.
