La Pommeraie

La Pommeraie is a farm-to-consumer fruit shop that has been in business for over 50 years.

It is located in Ammerschwihr in the Haut-Rhin department, on the Wine Route (Departmental Road 10).

Most of the fruit comes from its own orchards: peaches, nectarines, cherries, and other berries in summer and fall, and about twenty varieties of apples.

It also offers its customers pick-your-own for certain fruits:
- starting around mid-June: cherries, red currants, black currants, blueberries,
- in September/October, several varieties of apples.

Pick-your-own is open Tuesday through Sunday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.

You’ll also find at La Pommeraie:

• seasonal vegetables,
• grocery items,
• flour and bread,
• condiments and spices,
• candy,
• various honeys and jams,
• a dairy section,
• delicatessen items, as well as a meat and charcuterie section,
• beverages (lemonades, beers, and wines),
• local handicrafts and books on Alsatian cuisine. 

At La Pommeraie, it is traditional to taste the different varieties of apples grown so you can make a choice based on taste rather than just the fruit’s appearance.

Surrounding La Pommeraie is a stunning landscape that often prompts cars to stop and people to take photos.

All of Alsace is right here! The Vosges Mountains on one side, orchards and vineyards on the other, all dotted with village steeples nestled at the foot of the mountains.

It’s simply magnificent!

So much so that a small playground near the large parking lot has been built so that customers can take a break while admiring the scenery. Some use the tables for picnics.
