An unforgettable visit along 3 km of galleries 30 m below ground, to understand the workings of a major Maginot Line structure, designed to protect us from any aggression... The facilities are typical of the Maginot Line, with kitchens, an electrical plant, an infirmary, barracks... The combat blocks, turrets and command post are 1 km from the entrances. In all, the fort could accommodate up to 630 men. It was indestructible, but had to surrender...
Every Tuesday from December 17, 2024 to March 25, 2025 at 2pm, enjoy a guided tour without reservation!

The fort at Schoenenbourg, the most important Maginot Line fortification in Alsace, is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. It comprises 8 blocks for 650 men. You can tour the barracks, the kitchens, the command post, the generating plant, see gun positions, retractable gun turrets, magazines for the ammunition. Documents on the history of the Maginot Line and on military life in a fort are on display. <br />

Opening hours 2025: January - February: every weekend from 2pm to 4pm March: every weekend from 9:30 to 11 a.m. and from 2 to 4 p.m. April: Monday to Friday, 2pm to 4pm, weekends and public holidays, 9:30am to 11am and 2pm to 4pm (with exceptions from 18th to 21st, 9:30am to 4pm). May and June: Monday to Friday 2-4pm, Saturday, Sunday and public holidays 9:30am-4pm. May 17: 9:30 am to 4 pm and 6 pm to 8 pm (nocturne at the Fort) September: Monday to Friday 2pm to 4pm, weekends 9:30am to 4pm. October: Monday to Friday 2pm to 4pm, weekends and public holidays 9:30am to 11am and 2pm to 4pm. July and August: daily 9.30am to 4pm November 1st and 2nd: 9.30am to 4pm November: 3 to 7 Monday to Friday, 2pm to 4pm, 8 to 11 9:30am to 11am and 2pm to 4pm. November 15 to December 21 inclusive: every weekend from 2pm to 4pm December 22 to 31 inclusive: daily from 2pm to 4pm. Last admissions at 11am and 4pm. Closes at 1pm and 6pm. Open all year round for groups, on reservation.
